Ways to Transform Your Life

Transforming your life isn’t something that just happens over night. To be honest, the transformation of your life will only happen if you’re intentional and deliberate about transforming your life. You can never truly transform your life if you’re allowing misconceptions about growth hinder you. Whether you want a breakthrough in your business, intimate life, emotional well-being, health, finances or career, there are only three areas to break through to feel lasting success.

1. YOUR STRATEGIES

I’m a firm believer that having tremendous work ethic is a necessity for success. However, work ethic alone doesn’t cut it. Eventually, you have to make the decision to not only work hard, but to also work smart. What is it that gets some people to succeed while others fail who seem to have equal enthusiasm or passion for the tasks at hand? They have insights, distinctions, and strategies that allow them to achieve more quickly.

Your strategies are like a GPS. If you are attempting to go somewhere you have never been, having a GPS handy will lead you to where you want to go. In your life, if you’re attempting to achieve something you have never done, reading the right books, talking with the right people, and formulating a strategy to help you get there will serve you well. Now, of course you have to be willing to put in the work. Plans don’t work if you don’t work them. However, your strategies will serve as your blueprint to transforming your life.

2. YOUR STORY

We all have stories — narratives we tell ourselves about why we can or cannot do or achieve something in our lives. Whether we believe we can or can’t, we’re usually right. The reason being is because our expectation controls our focus, perceptions, and the way in which we feel and act. When a person succeeds it’s because they have the right strategy, and usually they found it because they have a story that it was possible or they could make it happen.

Nine times out of ten people who want to go back to school and get a degree but don’t, it’s because they have one of the two simple stories: “I’m not smart enough” or “I don’t have the time.” With that as your core belief system you are never going to find a strategy, and even if you do, you won’t follow through on it.

This isn’t to say that there isn’t some truth to your story, you very well may be a single mother of 5 kids and have little time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your degree one class at a time. A disempowering story is one of the things that controls people and makes them stuck in their beliefs. Most people tell a story in a selective way so they don’t have to ever maximize their effort towards a strategy because they’re afraid they will fail. In order to get out of a story you have to be triggered by hunger and desire: if someone wants something strong enough they will break through the story that’s limiting them.

3. YOUR STATE OF MIND

Almost 100% of the time your state of mind will dictate your story. As human beings we all develop emotional patterns, also known as moods, that are mental or emotional states that tend to filter how we look at our lives. After so many bad experiences, it can become easy to establish a mood of disappointment, which leads to a pessimistic outlook. The goal is to remain positive regardless of the experiences you have. I’m not saying you won’t experience pain because you will. I’m simply telling you to not allow the pain you have faced be the reason you face your future with negativity.

BREATH AND REALIZE

When you’re experiencing anxiety or stress, take a few deep breathes and communicate with yourself that as long as you’re alive, you have a shot at a better life. This has many internal rewards because you’re turning your focus from doubt and worry to growth and gratitude. Being thankful for life doesn’t just mean being accepting of where you currently are, it also means being accepting of where you could be and are headed as long as you have time!

PERCEPTION IS REALITY

Sometimes I really hate that perception is reality because some peoples perception prevent them from being the greatest they can be and was designed to be. I need you to understand that how you view your life, your future, and your present is critical to your personal growth.

Learning to put yourself in a peak state consistently is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and your life. It can transform your stories and give you the strategies to breakthrough.
